Renewable Energy

Through the implementation of the Green Energy Act, the Province of Ontario has committed to growing the province's green energy sector. By solidifying the FIT and micro-FIT programs, communities and businesses in Ontario can participate in this new green economy. Financial incentives are provided for energy generated from alternative sources.

Énergie Kapuskasing Energy

Énergie Kapuskasing Energy is a municipally-owned electricity utility company in the town of Kapuskasing. It is the holding company of Solaire Kapuskasing Solar and Hydro Kapuskasing Hydro.

Developed in 2011, these companies were created to take advantage of development opportunities in the renewable energy sector in the town of Kapuskasing and surrounding municipalities. Since its creation, Énergie Kapuskasing Energy has developed several projects, many of which have been built in partnership with various municipalities across Ontario.
