Parking

The Town of Kapuskasing has undertaken a proactive approach to parking enforcement to address parking issues. Parking meter attendants and municipal by-law enforcement officers are on duty within the Town, which may include Saturdays and Sundays.

Pay and Display Units

The Town of Kapuskasing has installed Pay and Display machines to replace parking meters.

A Pay and Display machine is a kiosk that replaces, on average, six to eight individual parking meters on a street. It allows users to pay for on-street parking using coins and provides them with a receipt.

The time is transportable - users pay for time instead of space and will be able to move from one on-street parking area to another.

Note that parking restrictions and accessible parking have not changed with the implementation of Pay and Display units. Directional signs will clearly indicate the area where parking is allowed. Simply look for Pay and Display markings. Clear instructions are on each Pay and Display unit.

Annual Parking Passes 

The Annual Parking Passes are available for purchase at the Civic Centre to individuals:

• 65 years of age or older at the time of purchase; or
• With a valid accessible parking permit.

The following are required at the time of purchase:

• Government issued ID; AND
• Valid accessible parking permit OR vehicle ownership

Winter Parking Restrictions

Overnight parking on any street or laneway is prohibited between midnight and 7 am during the winter months (November 1 to April 30).

Vehicles that remain parked on the street and interfere with snowplowing or snow removal operations will be ticketed. Contravention of the regulation may result in a fine and having your vehicle towed away at your own expense.
