Message from the Mayor

Bonjour, Welcome, Wachay,

On behalf of Town Council and staff, I want to thank you for your interest in Kapuskasing. Kap is very community-oriented; our residents enjoy a peaceful life, our children are safe, our seniors are valued, and our local businesses are strongly supported. It is encouraging to see our citizens demonstrate their community pride by participating in the many facets of public life.

Kapuskasing is a vibrant community that boasts all the amenities associated with an urban centre, while providing the relaxing lifestyle of a smaller community. Kapuskasing's economic growth is reflected in the continual development and expansion of its commercial and industrial sectors. This is an excellent indicator of the town's status and vision.

As with many communities across Canada, Kapuskasing takes pride in the preservation if its heritage as the town owes its beginnings to the railroad, the forest industry and the rich Claybelt - all important factors encouraging our ancestors to settle in this rich land.

Kapuskasing is home to over 8,100 residents. Our town offers an extensive selection of educational institutionshealth care amenitiesgoods and services, and indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.

Our charming community also hosts a variety of attractionsevents and activities including the Kap Kraze Tailgate Country Derby, the Big Winter Festiglace, the Ron Morel Memorial Museum, the Riverside Water park and the Festival de la St-Jean.

We look forward to welcoming you with the hospitality for which Kapuskasing is renowned.

Dave Plourde
