The Town and its community partners also host several events per year which help celebrate our heritage, such as:

Did you know?

On July 25, 2007, the Town of Kapuskasing was commemorated with the Garden City Traditional Provincial Plaque by the Ontario Heritage Trust and the Ministry of Culture.

Garden cities were intended to be planned, self-contained communities surrounded by "greenbelts", containing proportionate areas of residences, industry and agriculture.

The northern mill town of Kapuskasing is a predominantly Francophone community as most residents are now bilingual. However, waves of English-speaking newcomers leave the French-speaking community in a constant fight to preserve their language and culture.
